Borders Bookstores are Closing in San Jose

February 28th, 2011

Borders Bookstore closed in England

I have some sad news to report: Your two local Borders bookstores are closing. Yes, Borders is closing two of their stores in San Jose due to restructuring. In fact, five stores in the area are closing including:

  • Oakridge Mall-925 Blossom Hill Road
  • Santana Row-356 Santana Row
  • Los Gatos-50 University Avenue
  • Santa Cruz-1200 Pacific Ave
  • Fremont-39210 Fremont Hub

Accordingly, you will have to drive to the Borders bookstore located at 15 Ranch Drive in Milpitas if you want to shop at Borders in the future. How soon will you have to make the commute, you ask? Well these stores are expected to close by the end of April. However, you can still shop at Borders online if you wish! On the other hand, there are plenty of other bookstores in San Jose including:

Barnes & Noble-Blossom Hill

Almaden Plaza
5353 Almaden Expressway
Building B
San Jose, CA 95118

Barnes & Noble-Eastridge Shopping Center
2200 Eastridge Loop Space 1420
San Jose, CA 95122
