If this is the case, you should make plans to participate in Palm Valley’s First Annual Yard Sale on Sunday, May 15th! This is the perfect opportunity for you to turn your junk into cash! On the other hand, if you don’t have anything to sell, you can stop by the yard sale to shop until you drop!
The yard sale will take place at Palmia Park from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The fee is only $20 to reserve a spot. (One 8″ table will be provided) If you would like to participate in the yard sale, you must RSVP by May 13th by calling 408-229-9813.

Did you have fun celebrating Earth Day last Friday? Did you have such a great time that you’re counting down the days until Earth Day next year? If so, I have great news for you! You don’t have to wait until 2012 to celebrate Earth Day again. Luckily, the city of San Jose is hosting a fantastic Earth Day celebration this weekend!
This fun event, Bright Green Day, will take place on Friday, April 29th. The Clean Energy Showcase will be open on Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th across the street from City Hall. The event will feature informative workshops and guided tours. You’ll also get the opportunity to view the first interactive, outdoor demonstration in the United States that includes full scale installations of progressive and modern energy technologies! Grab your keys, hat, and 31 cents for the annual 31 Cent Scoop Night event at Baskin Robbins! If you love Baskin-Robbins, you understand the magnitude of this event! On the other hand, if you’ve never had ice cream from Baskin-Robbins, this is the perfect opportunity for you to taste one of the many yummy flavors. I mean, what do you have to lose? I don’t know what it is, maybe I want to feel a rush or something, but I’ve always wanted to participate in the Running of the Bulls event in Spain! Every time I tell friends, they always give me a blank stare as if I’m going out of my mind. If you want to live on the wild side just like me, you should sign up for the 9th Annual Running of the Bulls on May 8th! Best of all, you don’t have to travel all the way to Spain to participate! This fun event is located around the corner in Palo Alto!
This is how it works: Olympic and local runners will be dressed in bull and cow uniforms while they chase down runners. The bulls and cows will be released in intervals with a delayed start. So, even if you choose to run rather than walk, you’ll probably still get the horns! Your goal is to run as fast as you can because you’ll have a better chance of winning a really great prize if you beat a lot of bulls and cows to the finish line! Interested? You can’t find the answer without asking the question. Your voice will not be heard if you choose not to speak up. If you want your voice to be heard, make plans to attend the District 2 Budget Meeting on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Southside Community & Senior Center.
This meeting will give District 2 residents the chance give their input as well as voice their concerns about the 2011-2012 budget. If you think something should be a high priority, speak up at the meeting! Councilmember Ash Kalra will be at the meeting to present the 2011-2012 City Budget, as well as answer questions from concerned citizens. Did you know that the Edenvale Community Center is offering Spring Classes this month? There will be a variety of classes for residents of all ages. If your child aspires to be the next Julia Child, the Jr. Chefs cooking class may be just the thing! There is even a Kids Cooking Creations class that will meet every Wednesday from April 13 to May 18th from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Participants must be at least 6 years of age, but not older than 13. Hurry to register your child for this class as there are only 10 opening seats remaining! Plus, the last day to register online is on April 16th!

Don’t forget that the 17th Annual Spring Garden Market will take place on Saturday at History San Jose! This fun event will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Bring your wallet or purse because I’m sure there will be something you want to purchase at the plant sale! In fact, over 300 different flowers, vegetables, and herbs will be available for purchase. Did you know that there are more than 75 different varieties of tomatoes? How about peppers? I was shocked to learn that there are more than 100 different varieties of peppers!
