Have you thought about taking a yoga class, but decided not to do so because you didn’t think it would benefit you? A common thought is that yoga is an exercise that is only good for people in immaculate shape and flexibility out of this world. The truth is that yoga is beneficial to everyone. If you’ve stayed clear of it, reconsider trying it again. Getting a little bored with your workout routine? Try a dance class. Dancing is a great aerobic exercise that gets your heart pumping and provides you with a full body workout. Not only does it help you burn calories but it also helps tone muscle too.
Dancing for exercise has become more popular thanks to shows like Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance. Everyone is starting to take notice that dancing doesn’t just consist of ballerinas performing to Swan Lake. There are many different genres of dance that are great workouts and everyone can enjoy.
If you are looking for a fun class to break up your usual work out routine, there is an interesting class in San Jose that you may like called Tezatlipoka Aztec Dance and Drum. The class is inspired by the traditional Aztec circle dance, and provides you with a unique cultural experience and workout. The class is held within 10 miles of the apartment every Wednesday at the Roosevelt Community Center from 6:30pm to 8pm. The best part about the class is it’s free!
Don’t abandon your workout routine, but if you are a little bored, switch things up and head over to the Aztec Dance and Drum class in San Jose.

Does your daily routine include a stop in the morning for breakfast at a fast food restaurant? For myself, I try to make breakfast at home, but there are those days when I haven’t done the grocery shopping and it leaves me with no choice but to get breakfast on the go. For others grabbing a quick to-go breakfast is apart of their daily routine.
You may think that eating at fast food restaurants everyday is horrible, but the problem with eating out has never been the mere action of doing so, it’s the choices that some of us choose on the menu.
We can all combat the ” eating an unhealthy breakfast” war by making ourselves aware of what the better choices are on the menu. WebMD has the perfect slideshow that shows the actual nutritional content of some poor choices from breakfast at restaurants. It also displays better options that will help keep the pounds off and will definitely be better for your overall health.
How important is it to make the switch from white bread to whole grain bread. From white rice to brown rice? If you are like me then hearing the truth may be hard to understand because when you look at the nutrition facts they look similar. The truth of the matter is that refined carbohydrates which include white bread, rice, and pasta should not be consumed in large amounts.
White carbs fit more in the category of the occasional splurge. Whole grains are better for you. They are a good source of fiber which is what you need. According to WebMD, diets low in fiber increase the chances of cardiovascular disease. Here is what a whole grain can do for you:
Digest Easier: Whole Grains break down differently in your body. White carbs break down into sugar where as whole grains are packed with fiber and help expel waste from your body.
Help Control Weight: Eating whole grain helps you control your weight. If just being healthy isn’t enough reason to make the switch, weight control should do the trick.
This question has boggled minds for ages. I think I first heard this question posed when I was in Kindergarten class. And honestly, I have used many precious brain cells wondering what the answer is. Well, I have to wonder no longer, because a group of scientists have finally cracked the riddle.
It turns out that the answer may have been simpler than we first assumed. It all comes down to one protein, OC-17. This particular protein is used to create the egg shell. And this ingredient is only found inside of the chicken, therefore there could never be an eggshell without the chicken.
Dr. Colin Freeman is quoted as saying “It had long been suspected that the egg came first, but now we have the scientific proof that shows that in fact the chicken came first,” It’s believed that this discovery will help scientists find ways to create new materials by studying the chicken.
